Presented by the Ferguson Center for the Arts
Join Broadway’s Erika Henningsen for a night of classic and not-so-classic musical gems with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. Star of Broadway’s Mean Girls and Les Miserables, Erika is excited to bring an evening of music to the Ferguson Center that encapsulates her journey from an MGM-loving kid who wore out the VCR watching and re-watching Judy Garland & Julie Andrews, to a 20-something Broadway ingenue making her debut in one of the most dramatic megamusicals of our time before pivoting to a Tina Fey-helmed comedy a few years later, to present day: an actor of stage and screen, excited to share with you everything she’s learned (and still doesn’t know) through song. Music directed by Andrew Resnick (Broadway’s Parade, The Cher Show, The King & I and Boop!) and joined by surprise guests, Erika is excited to share with you the musical highlights of several generations: songs that have shaped her as an artist and person, from Rodgers & Hammerstein to Stephen Schwartz to Billie Eilish. Whether you are a 15-year-old discovering Broadway bootlegs on TikTok or a grandparent who misses the debonair flair of Fred and Ginger dancing to Irving Berlin, this evening is sure to leave you humming, revisiting old classics and eager to dive into something new.
This special $20 ticket price is made possible through the generosity of our donors and sponsors, and in recognition of Ferguson Center’s upcoming 20th anniversary season.
