Celebrating its 12th year making music accessible to everyone!
The Cook Foundation presents the Symphony under the Stars FREE Family Concert on Saturday, June 2nd at 8:00PM “on the lawn” of Main Street & Walter Reed Way. The concert will be given by the Virginia Symphony orchestra conducted by Erin Freeman. This is the 12th year that the Cook Foundation has been making music accessible to everyone. Touted as one of the most anticipated events of the year in the community, it is expected to draw over 2,000 people to the Gloucester Village for an evening of great food and music.
The public is encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Dine on Main Street before the concert and receive 10% off at Bangkok Noi, LuLu Birds Kitchen, Olivia’s in the Village, Patriots Grille and Sweet Tooth Café & Bakery. Picnics are welcome too and you can also dine on site with Good Life Kitchen and Boy Scout Troop 111. If you wish to purchase and pick up a picnic basket to take to the concert, Good Life Kitchen will be offering some symphony specials.
Road closures will be in effect on Main Street between Belroi Rd. (at Church of the St. Therese) and Newington Baptist Church between the hours of 6:30PM and 10:00PM to facilitate the concert. General parking will be available along Main Street, in the back lots of Newington Baptist Church and in Gloucester County Government parking lots. Special needs parking will be available at Newington Baptist Church & Church of the St. Therese by permit only.
In the event of forecasted rain, the concert will be held at Lighthouse Worship Center on Route 17.
