CommUNITY Play-In & Sing Along

Come play and sing with us to unite our commUNITY through music.

Pick up your instrument, bring your voice and join the Virginia Symphony Orchestra in a celebration of peace, inclusion and unity. This inspiring annual event embraces our community’s cultural richness and diversity, uniting people of all ages, faiths and backgrounds through participation in music, dance and spoken word.

Music will be available for any instrument and voice at any level, so come play and sing with us! Or just come as you are and enjoy the musical talents of your neighbors.

Performance:

• Sunday, October 4, 3:00pm at Booker T. Washington High School, Norfolk – FREE and Open to the public!

Chorus Only Rehearsal:

• Tuesday, September 29, 7:30pm-10:00pm at Blessed Sacrament Church, Norfolk (6400 Newport Ave, Norfolk, VA 23505) NOTE – Bring your music

Rehearsals for All Participants (Chorus & Orchestra):

• Saturday, October 3, 1:00pm-3:30pm at Booker T. Washington High School, Norfolk NOTE – Bring your music and, if needed, music stand
• SOUND CHECK – Sunday, October 4, 2:00pm-2:30pm at Booker T. Washington High School, Norfolk NOTE – Bring your music and, if needed, music stand

   • Select “College” as your age group.
2. Choose Your Instrument
   • You can select to reserve your instrument for later or get it now and start practicing. Please note: The $9.99 rental fee is only available for the first three months. It is $9.99 TOTAL for the first three months. Regular instrumental rental prices do apply after the trial period is over. Cancel Anytime.
   • Select your instrument!
     • Flute, Clarinet, Trombone, Trumpet, Violin, Viola are available starting at $9.99
     • Alto Saxophone and Cello are available starting at $20 for the first three months.
     • Make sure to include the  Liability Damage Waiver (LDW)
