Administrative Opportunities
Director of Marketing and Sales
The Director of Marketing and Sales reports to the President & CEO and works closely in alignment with a comprehensive patron services team. They are responsible for executing successful sales and customer service campaigns that meet the VSO’s earned revenue goals. This team leader will develop a comprehensive plan to drive attendance and revenue goals for all performances and events. They’ll oversee patron development, ticketing operations, group sales, telemarketing efforts and customer service.

Accounting Manager
The Virginia Symphony Orchestra (VSO) is seeking a full-time Accountant who reports directly to the CFO. Primary responsibilities include payroll, benefit administration, accounts payable, daily deposit reconciliation and recording of month-end journal entries. The ideal candidate is a highly organized individual with a positive attitude, who combines their knowledge and love of accounting with a desire for helpful and regular interaction with our employees.

Database Manager
The VSO is looking for a creative and data driven individual to serve as its Database & Patron Loyalty Manager. The model candidate is a highly motivated team player, must be committed to maintaining a superior level of customer service at all times and must be detail-oriented, customer-focused and results-driven. This individual will work closely with the VSO’s Development and Marketing Departments alike to ensure seamless reporting and data analysis to further the mission and vision of the the organization.

Marketing Manager
The Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Marketing and works closely in alignment with a comprehensive patron services team. They are responsible for delivering ticketing campaigns (single ticket and subscriptions) that meet our exceed budget targets and demonstrate measurable growth in audience engagement (as measured through NTF metrics, ST & SUB retention metrics, multi-buying rates, subscriber acquisition rates). This team leader will develop a comprehensive plan to drive attendance and revenue goals for all performances and events.

Patron Services Associate
The Patron Services Associate is a part-time position, supporting the functions of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra Box Office by providing customer service support in subscriptions and single ticket sales in the office as well as at the multiple concert venues in which the orchestra performs. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, well organized, personable and is comfortable working with and analyzing data as well as excellent customer service skills and be able to make decisions quickly based on defined policies and procedures. Knowledge of Tessitura database and appreciation for symphonic music is a plus.

Principal Librarian
The Virginia Symphony Orchestra is seeking a Principal Librarian to support the musicians by providing and organizing all of the music needed for performances (including subcontracted, dance, opera, and chamber music programs) and to maintain the orchestra’s library of parts, scores, and recordings.

The Virginia Symphony Orchestra is seeking students who are pursuing a degree in Education or the Performing Arts with a career orientation or personal interest in arts administration and education.
This internship opportunity offers hands-on experience in a variety of areas related to music education, performing arts, and arts administration. Candidates must have strong organizational skills and be able to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
