Bowie, with Strings

April 16, 2016

Here’s the latest David Bowie tribute show, and it’s a cool one: The Virginia Symphony Orchestra plays the songs of David Bowie, June 3 at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk. Tickets are on sale for $20.

Since Bowie’s unexpected death in January, musicians and performers in all different genres have lined up to give their take on his oeuvre. Now it’s time for the symphony to weigh in, conducted by Benjamin Rous (and with special guest Jeans ‘n Classics with vocalist Jean Meilleur).

Bowie’s eclectic way with a composition lends itself to a lot of different interpretations, and the symphony will surely get creative.
