HAMPTON ROADS, VA [Feb. 7, 2017] – The Virginia Symphony Orchestra is bringing to the Naro Cinema in Norfolk a feature documentary which explores the topic of performance anxiety.

Composed is a 78-minute documentary film that features musicians and mental health experts from the US and UK, including members of major US orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic. In sometimes very personal and riveting interviews, musicians and experts discuss the issue of performance anxiety; what it is, why it happens, and what steps are employed to address it. After the screening, producer/director John Beder, Virginia Symphony Orchestra Music Director JoAnn Falletta, members of the Ambrosia String Quartet (who will also perform), and Dr. Kamal Chemali of Sentara Healthcare’s Music & Medicine unit will participate in a panel discussion and answer audience questions.
