Virginia Symphony Orchestra presents The Music of Elton John

Hampton Roads, VA [Oct. 31, 2016] — The Virginia Symphony Orchestra, backed by an eight-piece rock band, will perform The Music of Elton John for two nights in Newport News and Norfolk this November.

Sir Elton John, with 37 gold and 27 multi-platinum albums and 250 million records sold worldwide – the third most successful artist in the history of the American charts (behind only Elvis and the Beatles) – is a force of musical nature. It’s reasonable to say no one can hold a candle in the wind to the astronomic Rocket Man, but nonetheless, honored time and again for his poignant and transcendent rock ballads that still hum in the hearts of listeners worldwide. Join the VSO, backed by vocalist Jean Meilleur and rock band, as we honor and celebrate the larger-than-life Pop Rock icon with The Music of Elton John.

Performances are Nov. 4 at Ferguson Center for the Arts in Newport News and Nov. 5 at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk. Downbeat is at 8 p.m.

Tickets start at $25 and can be purchased by calling 757.892.6366, visiting www.virginiasymphony.org or visiting the Virginia Symphony Box Office at 150 Boush Street, Suite 201, Norfolk, VA 23510 from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday. For group sales of 10 or more, call 757.213.1436.
