VSO staging Halloween-themed family concert

October 24, 2016

Young children and their families are invited to dress up in their favorite costumes on Saturday, Oct. 29, while attending a “Halloween Spooktacular” concert by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra.

Conductor Benjamin Rous will lead the VSO in a performance of what the orchestra is billing as “some of the spookiest music ever written.”

The concert is set for 3 p.m. at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts in Virginia Beach, with pre-show activities beginning at 2 p.m.

Despite the ominous description of the day’s musical agenda, VSO officials say, “Don’t be afraid – this concert is more treat than trick, perfect for ages 3-12.”

Tickets for the concert and pre-show activities are $16 for adults and $11 for children.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 757-892-6366, online at www.virginiasymphony.org, or by visiting the VSO Box Office at 150 Boush St. in Norfolk.

The box office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For group sales of 10 tickets or more, call 757-466-3047.
